This was certainly one of the greatest challenges I've ever had. I had to deliver a series of iterations of the Ancient One's mirror to the client. Once the client had approved my concept, my task as compositing and lighting artist was to work closely with a senior FX artist to respond to feedback from the client and our supervisors to satisfaction. A lot of patience, creativity and back-and-forth with the customer, supervisors and my colleague FX made this plan a success. The look was rolled out over several shots where different artists were able to use and adapt my Nuke script to work on their shots.

On a more technical note, as the actors were shot on green backgrounds with a lot of spill, intensive work was carried out to preserve the colors of fabrics and skins.
And it's a combination of factors that make this plan a success. Acting also played an important role, as we received two plates, one from the front and one from the back, where Mads Mikkelsen (Kaecilius) had to be synchronized with the director's take. What a performance!
